A quick note - some folks may recall that we were waiting on the results of one last genetic test...the P-53 mutation, which is another one that predisposes her to a higher risk of getting breast, ovarian and a few other cancers than that of the general population without any mutations...AND SHE IS NEGATIVE FOR THAT GENE MUTATION WHICH MEANS THAT SHE HAS NO MUTATIONS THAT PREDISPOSE HER TO A HIGHER RISK OF CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've been waiting on the results of this last mutation test for a month and this is SUCH a relief!!!! The genetic counselor said that the only thing that separates her from the general population is the fact that her grandmother had ovarian cancer, which doubles Ade's chances of getting ovarian cancer over the course of her lifetime...which makes her chances of getting ovarian cancer sometime in her life a whoppin' 3%!!!
We are planning on coming home today, especially since she is feeling such a sense of relief right now! The pain is managed for the most part, she is relatively comfortable, she's eating well, resting well, and man...life is good!
Have a great day kids, if you get a moment please pray for a safe and quick trip home...we have an hour and a half or so drive home and then the hike up the stairs and so on and so on...We'll make it though, a walk in the park.
