Day 2

A long day today...pain has been sometimes good, sometimes bad.  This afternoon was tough, we had some communication issues with our resident and had to really advocate for ourselves.  We've "fired" that particular resident because he was rather callous and uncaring and his communication was very poor.  That is frustrating, but at the same time our nurses are wonderful.  They are wonderfully caring and gentle and ready to help and take really good care of her.

Her pain is well under control right now, and if it stays this way through the night, we will be fine to go home tomorrow.  If tonight is too rough, we will stay another night tomorrow and come home Saturday.  It is apparently our choice completely and we will make the best choice for her.  We were unsure up to just recently this evening that we actually hold the keys to that decision and can stay as long as we need to.

Time to wind down and get some sleep...a movie is gently playing, the lights are down, she brushed her teeth and has been peeing like a champ. (apparently thats a big deal) She is RFnoA (ready for no action) Sleep is coming easily for right now at least, so thats really good.
