We got to see a beautiful sunset this morning...this is the day that the Lord has made and by God we are going to enjoy it!
It's an interesting thing being in the hospital...I tried to order oatmeal for her, because I'm her husband and I know what she can and can't eat and they said they can't send it up because their computer said its part of the gluten-free diet and it wont let them. So the computer knows better now...
I just needed that one little soapbox indulgence, that little rant against The Man, so thank you :-)
The nurses here are wonderful, they have been so sweet. The doc popped in this morning and said that the incisions look great, she was a little non-committal with details, but everything looks good apparently. Her pain is manageable, she did just take an oral painkiller in addition to her IV painkiller because the oral is a little longer lasting. She can get a dose of the IV drug every 6 minutes but that gives you an idea of how long it lasts. She is really looking forward to getting up and moving a little because she has essentially been on her back for 24 hours, which is kind of rough.
She just finished a lovely garden omelet and some orange juice and for some reason is all bent about putting some underwear on...apparently the sexy green gown and brown sticky socks are less than comfortable or soemthing...I don't know.
Anyway, life is good, she is good, we are good...I'd kill for a cup of coffee, but if thats my biggest complaint then ok. I'm good with that.
Have a great day! I'll touch base later on with other details such as how long we will be staying...right now we are looking at coming home tomorrow, but well see.
Later gang!
