Howdy folks,
The surgeon just came out about 5 minutes ago (2:10-ish) and told us that both mastectomies, the sentinal node biopsy and the port installation are all completed, and that 1 of 2 reconstructions are done. The reconstructive surgeon will be the next person to come out and give us our next update and at that point the surgery will be over. Recovery will just be beginning however and that could still be a couple hours before we will get to see her. They took 3 nodes out and the surgeon gave us no indication that they were at all concerned about those nodes. We were told in pre-op that they would take a minimum of 2-4 nodes in the biopsy portion of this thing. We wont know anything of the biopsy results for something like 5 days.
Thanks so much for your support and for continuing to pray for her. The doc said that she was doing great and although she looked tired, she seemed very happy with how it was going...so we smile about that right now.
Keep on with the keepin' on kids, we're gonna make it through this!
Boobies.
Jeremy
